The Longines HydroConquest just got its biggest overhaul in years. The 2026 version is a ground-up redesign: new 42mm and 39mm case sizes (replacing the old 41mm and 43mm), full ceramic bezels across every reference, geometric applied indexes, the H-link bracelet borrowed from the HydroConquest GMT, and a tool-less micro-adjust system. Six Longines HydroConquest automatic references are now available in Canada at La Maison Monaco, starting at $2,900 CAD.

Here is a full Longines HydroConquest review of every 2026 reference, with specs, pricing, and what makes this generation different.

What's New in the 2026 HydroConquest

This is a ground-up redesign, not a dial swap. Here is what changed:

Case sizing is rationalized. The old Longines HydroConquest 41mm and HydroConquest 43mm are gone. The 2026 lineup replaces them with a Longines HydroConquest 39mm and 42mm, bringing the larger option down a millimeter while the smaller size drops two. If you found the 41mm too close to the 43mm to justify both, Longines agrees with you. The 39mm is drawing massive interest (search traffic for "longines hydroconquest 39mm" spiked over 600% in March 2026), but this post focuses on the six 42mm references available now.

Ceramic bezels replace aluminum on every reference. The previous generation used aluminum bezel inserts on the non-GMT models. Now, all six 42mm references get ceramic inserts with a unidirectional ratcheting action that clicks with more precision than before. A SuperLumiNova capsule at 12 o'clock replaces the painted lume pip, improving visibility in low light.

Applied geometric indexes replace printed numerals. The dial design is cleaner and more modern. Inverted triangles at 12, circles at 6 and 9, rectangles elsewhere. All indexes are applied (raised) with SuperLumiNova fill. No more printed Arabic numerals.

The H-link bracelet from the HydroConquest GMT. This is one of the biggest upgrades. The old bracelet was functional but uninspired. The new H-link design, first introduced on the GMT variant, brings a more premium look and a tool-less micro-adjust system built into the clasp. You can fine-tune the fit on the fly, no spring bar tool required.

Redesigned crown guards. The 2026 version pulls back the crown guards, making the crown easier to grip without sacrificing protection. A subtle change, but one you will notice every time you set the time.

Milanese mesh option. Select colorways now come with a stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet, a first for the HydroConquest line. The mesh option adds $200 to the price and gives the watch a distinctly different character on the wrist.

The Dial and Bezel Combinations

Six references, four dial colors, and five bezel colors. Here is each one:

Black Lacquered Polished Dial with Black Ceramic Bezel -- Ref. L3.788.4.56.6

Longines HydroConquest 42mm black dial black ceramic bezel ref L3.788.4.56.6

The baseline HydroConquest. Black on black is the most versatile option here, equally at home with a wetsuit or a suit. The lacquered polished finish adds depth to the dial that flat matte finishes cannot match.

Black Lacquered Polished Dial with Slate Grey Ceramic Bezel -- Ref. L3.788.4.70.6

Longines HydroConquest 42mm black dial slate grey ceramic bezel ref L3.788.4.70.6

Same black dial, but the slate grey ceramic bezel softens the contrast and gives the watch a more contemporary feel. This is one of the three references available with the Milanese mesh bracelet option.

Frosted Blue Sunray Dial with Luminous Blue Ceramic Bezel -- Ref. L3.788.4.99.6

Longines HydroConquest 42mm frosted blue sunray dial luminous blue ceramic bezel ref L3.788.4.99.6

The standout of the collection. The frosted blue sunray finish creates a textured, light-catching surface that shifts tone depending on the angle. Paired with the luminous blue ceramic bezel, this is the most visually dynamic reference in the lineup. Also available with Milanese mesh.

Green Lacquered Polished Dial with Verdant Green Ceramic Bezel -- Ref. L3.788.4.06.6

Longines HydroConquest 42mm green dial verdant green ceramic bezel ref L3.788.4.06.6

Green dials continue to dominate watch trends, and Longines delivers a deep, saturated green lacquer paired with a matching verdant green ceramic bezel. This is not a subtle olive or khaki. It is a full, rich green that catches the eye without being loud.

Blue Lacquered Polished Dial with Blue Ceramic Bezel -- Ref. L3.788.4.96.6

Longines HydroConquest 42mm blue dial blue ceramic bezel ref L3.788.4.96.6

The classic dive watch color combo. Blue dial, blue bezel, steel bracelet. If you are buying one dive watch and you want it to read "diver" at a glance, this is the one. The lacquered polished finish keeps it from looking flat, and the ceramic bezel means the color will not fade.

Black Lacquered Polished Dial with Black Ceramic Bezel (Milanese Mesh) -- Ref. L3.788.4.90.6

Longines HydroConquest 42mm black dial Milanese mesh ref L3.788.4.90.6

The third black-dial variant, this one distinguished by its availability with the Milanese mesh bracelet. Same black lacquered polished dial and ceramic bezel, but a completely different character on the wrist. The mesh bracelet gives it a lighter, more refined feel compared to the H-link.

Movement and Performance

All six references run the Longines L888.2 automatic caliber, and this is not a throwaway spec.

The L888.2 beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hz) and stores 72 hours of power reserve. That is a full three days. Take it off Friday night and it will still be running Monday morning.

The movement uses a silicon balance spring, which improves resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variations. Silicon does not corrode, does not need lubrication, and holds its shape over time. It is the same balance spring technology you find in movements costing two or three times as much.

For a watch priced between $2,900 and $3,100 CAD, a 72-hour power reserve with a silicon balance spring puts the HydroConquest in a category where competitors typically charge $5,000 or more for equivalent specs.

On the Wrist: Size and Comfort

The 2026 HydroConquest 42mm measures 42mm in diameter, 51.20mm lug-to-lug, and 11.07mm thick.

If you wore the previous 41mm HydroConquest, the jump to 42mm is barely perceptible on the wrist. What you will notice is the lug-to-lug measurement. At 51.20mm, this watch will sit comfortably on wrists 17cm (6.7 inches) and up without lug overhang. The sub-12mm thickness means it slides under a shirt cuff without snagging.

The tool-less micro-adjust built into the H-link bracelet deserves specific mention. Your wrist swells and contracts throughout the day, especially in warm weather or during physical activity. Being able to add or remove a few millimeters of bracelet length without tools is the kind of quality-of-life feature that separates a watch you wear every day from one that sits in a drawer.

For those who found the 43mm too large but wanted more presence than the 41mm, the 42mm hits a sweet spot. And if you prefer something smaller, the 2026 collection also includes a 39mm option (not covered here, but worth knowing about if you shop for the Longines collection at La Maison Monaco).

FAQ

Is the Longines HydroConquest a good watch?

Yes. The 2026 Longines HydroConquest is one of the best-value dive watches you can buy in Canada right now. For $2,900 to $3,100 CAD, you get a 300m-rated diver with a ceramic bezel, Longines L888.2 automatic movement with a silicon balance spring, and 72 hours of power reserve. Those are specs that competing brands charge $5,000+ for. Longines has been making watches since 1832 and the HydroConquest is their most popular sports collection for a reason. Online Longines HydroConquest reviews consistently rank it among the top sub-$3,500 dive watches on the market.

What size is the new Longines HydroConquest? What happened to the 41mm and 43mm?

Longines replaced the Longines HydroConquest 41mm and 43mm with 39mm and 42mm in the 2026 redesign. The old 41mm and 43mm were too close in size to justify both options. The new Longines HydroConquest 42mm replaces the old 41mm and offers slightly more wrist presence, while the new Longines HydroConquest 39mm replaces the 43mm's role by offering a genuinely different size option. If you previously wore the 41mm, the 42mm will feel very similar on the wrist. If you previously wore the 43mm and want to stay large, the 42mm is still close. The 39mm is a completely different wearing experience.

How much does the Longines HydroConquest cost in Canada?

The Longines HydroConquest price in Canada starts at $2,900 CAD for the 42mm references with the H-link steel bracelet and goes up to $3,100 CAD for references that include the Milanese mesh bracelet option. All six references are available to buy at La Maison Monaco with free shipping across Canada. The Longines HydroConquest Canada pricing is set by the brand and consistent with authorized dealers nationwide.

What's new in the 2026 Longines HydroConquest?

The 2026 model is a full redesign. Key changes include: new case sizes (39mm and 42mm, replacing 41mm and 43mm), ceramic bezel inserts on all models (previously aluminum), geometric applied indexes instead of printed numerals, the H-link bracelet from the HydroConquest GMT with tool-less micro-adjust, a new Milanese mesh bracelet option on select references, redesigned crown guards, and a SuperLumiNova capsule at 12 o'clock on the bezel. The move to ceramic bezels is the single biggest upgrade, eliminating the scratch-prone aluminum inserts of the previous generation.
